Welcome to Supper With Michelle!

My name is Michelle Braxton and I am the creator, recipe developer, and photographer of this blog, Supper with Michelle. Since 2014, “Supper with Michelle” has been a place for me to share some of my recipes and experiences in the kitchen. And I founded this blog as a way to celebrate fruits and vegetables and spread the joy and happiness I find in plant-forward and pescatarian cooking. I’m a firm believer in finding the right balance, in life and in the meals I prepare. I enjoy experimenting with various spices and ingredients and I try to incorporate as many fresh, seasonal, natural and wholefood ingredients into my recipes whenever possible.

You might also notice while browsing that I LOVE SOUP! So much so that I’ve often been called the “Soup Queen”! Funny tidbit, even actress Jenna Fischer shared her love of my Vegetarian Zuppa Toscana!  But don’t stop there! I also have a lot of great salads and entrees as well. There’s is truly something for everyone here.

I do a lot of cooking by sight and by habit. So, some measurements that I give are good estimations that should work for these dishes. I do recommend that you taste and season as you go. The flavor and the ripeness of your fruits and veggies will dictate how you should season the recipe. Some are milder, sweeter, and some are saltier, so keep that in mind as you go. And also keep in mind, that cooking is all a matter of taste…and what YOU like. I highly encourage you to experiment, step out of that comfort zone of yours, try new things, and alter my recipes as you see fit and to suit your taste buds.

One of my biggest joys comes from seeing my friends and family’s face light up when they eat my dishes. You know that look that says… “Mmmm” or “Wow, this tastes good”! That’s such an awesome feeling. All of my dishes are prepared out of love and hopefully by sharing them with you, you can in return share them with your friends and/or family and pass on a little bit of that love as well.

I WROTE A COOKBOOK!

My debut cookbook, Supper with Love  is officially out! In Supper with Love, I share my very personal journey of food, love, and life. With some of my favorite beautifully photographed recipes for vibrant and satisfying salads, soups, side dishes, sandwiches, bowls, brinners, and suppers, highlighting natural and in-season ingredients every step of the way. With over 85 recipes, I show just how simple, nourishing, and flavorful plant-forward meals can be. UPCOMING EVENTS

  • I’ll be attending the 2nd Annual Black Women in Food Summit in Washington, DC the weekend of April 26-27. And I can’t wait to meet and/or listen to so many renowned chefs and restaurateurs to food writers, food justice advocates, farmers, and food entrepreneurs whom I’ve been inspired by over the years.
  • I’m excited to be one of the authors invited by the Junior League of Richmond, Virginia as they host their 79th Book & Author Event on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Book & Author is the longest running event of its kind in the country, beginning in 1947! If you live near the area, please come out! I would love to meet you!
